Aquarius System

The UK daily average potable water usage per household is 150 litres per person. Over 50% of that water consumption is used on flushing toilets, laundry and for outdoor use in gardening and car wash applications. In such applications potable water does not need to be used.

In 2009 the Government introduced ‘The Code for Sustainable Homes’. The code is now widely adopted by most major housing developers and design consultants, particularly on social housing and urban re development.

Developers seeking planning approval will be expected to comply with the ‘Code for Sustainable Homes’ encompassing BREEAM (BRE Environmental Assessment Method) and its specific reference to water efficiency.

The minimum compliance level of the code reduces potable water consumption from 150 litres per person to 125 litres per person per day.

Whilst the highest level requires potable water consumption to be less than 80 litres per person per day.

Our Aquarius Rainwater Harvesting Systems are available in two ranges …

By using the Aquarius Rain Harvesting Systems it is possible to effectively replace up to 50% of the daily domestic potable water use with harvested rainwater and up to 85% of non domestic water use dependant on the amount of rainfall and the storage volume.
