Rainwater Harvesting

Rainwater harvesting consists of collecting and storing rainwater. Rainwater is collected from a roof and redirected to rainwater harvesting tanks, either in above ground rainwater harvesting tanks or below ground rainwater harvesting tanks.

Rainwater harvesting systems are predominantly used for watering the garden. With added technology, they can be plumbed directly into existing pipework. Water tanks can harvest rainwater to flush toilets, wash laundry, and cope with other non-human consumption applications.

According to the Rainwater Harvesting Association, you could reduce your water consumption by as much as 40% which will lower your water bills if you're on a water meter.

Harvesting rainwater makes perfect sense. As our population continues to grow, so does the demand for mains water. Both families and businesses are benefiting from habits that reduce their environmental impact, and rainwater harvesting systems are increasingly in demand.
